~ Wear loose, comfortable clothing and dress light. Sweating is part of the practice and will help to purify and de-toxify the body.
~ Yoga should be practiced on an empty stomach. Refrain from eating a full meal 2-3 hours prior to your practice, or just have a light snack for energy.
~ Arrive 5-15 minutes early to sign in, set up and settle in.
~ Please bring your own mat for personal hygiene reasons.
~ Yoga practice is best done in bare feet. Wearing socks is not recommended.
~ Cell phones must be turned off, both sound and vibrate.
~ Notify your instructor prior to class of any medical conditions, injuries, surgeries or pregnancy. Certain postures should be avoided for certain conditions.
~ Please be mindful and avoid unnecessary talking during class and keep voices low.
~ Feel free to bring water and a towel and any props (straps or blocks) to assist your postures.
~ Yoga should be practiced with patience and never be forced. You make your practice your own. Be aware of your abilities and limitations; if there is any posture you cannot do, rest and go into “Child’s Pose”. Listen to your body.
~ Doing a total relaxation (Shavasana -Corpse Pose) at the end of practice is an important part of yoga, calming the mind and body and balancing the nervous system. Please do not leave class without doing so. If you must leave class early, be sure to stop your practice early and leave 5 minutes for a proper rest and relaxation.
~ If you are running late, please be sure to enter class “quietly” as not to disturb others. Be aware of where you set up with your mat to not encroach too closely on someone else’s space. Staggering your mat is helpful to create more space for movement.
